The School of Information Studies at Charles Sturt University (CSU) is advertising for a Professor in Information Studies (Level E).
The successful applicant will play a key leadership role in the research and teaching conducted across the School of Information Studies. The appointee will be expected to build on a distinguished track record of research at national and international levels, and to extend the School’s research capacity. Some teaching and/or administrative duties may be required. The appointee will also be expected to engage extensively with the information professions at large, as well as with the wider university community.
The School of Information Studies is Australia’s largest provider of online education for the library and information professions. With over 1,700 students, the School has recently implemented a comprehensive program of curriculum renewal, and is experiencing burgeoning enrolments. The School offers highly regarded, industry focused postgraduate and undergraduate courses in library and information studies, with a wide range of specialisations, a stand-alone Masters course in teacher librarianship, and a successful PhD program.
The successful candidate would normally be required to work on the CSU campus at Wagga Wagga, NSW, although in some instances an arrangement in which they are based off campus in another location within Australia may be negotiable.
