Marburg Archives School offers a temporary job as
Lecturer- Records Management
Marburg Archives School is the central authority for the education and training of archivists in Germany. From 1st of October 2012 onwards it will offer a Master program in Records Management. In order to prepare and implement the degree we welcome and invite applications of trained lecturers, especially from English speaking countries. Candidates will be appointed, and commence work, on 1st of January 2012.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Teaching the subjects Records Management and Electronic Records Management; the subject will be taught in both English and/or German, depending on the candidate’s language skills
- Supporting the organization and implementation of the master program
- Compiling a bank of subject specific teaching resources
Further expectations:
- Attendance and organization of international conferences
- Participation in the conceptualization and planning of international research projects
Key Requirements:
- a master degree in Records Management or in an equivalent subject
- a minimum of five years professional experience in Records Management
- a high interest in the central discipline-specific topics, which are currently being debated at an international level
- the ability to take up these central issues, and convey central aspects of the current discussion in your lectures
Desirable:
- A PhD
- Teaching experience in records management or a related subject area, at national and international level
- Publications of articles on Records Management related issues
- Good communication skills, a pedagogic and didactic aptitude, and a hands-on and autonomous personality
- Knowledge of Archival Science is beneficial
