Protection of Personal Data
La réunion du Comité exécutif de l’ICA à Blois
ICA, during its Executive Board of March 14-15 2013, received the press release from the Association des archivistes français (AAF) on the proposed fate of personal data contained in a draft European regulation. ICA entirely shares the concerns expressed by France that this regulation could pave the way for the mass and indiscriminate destruction of personal data, much of which is of continuing administrative and enduring historical value.
Lors de son Comité exécutif des 14 et 15 mars 2013, l’ICA a été interpellé par l’Association des archivistes français (AAF) sur le sort des données personnelles dans le cadre du nouveau règlement européen prévu sur la question. L’ICA partage les préoccupations exprimées par la France dans la mesure où cette législation pourrait ouvrir la voie vers une destruction massive et sans distinction des données personnelles, dont la majeure partie possède une valeur administrative et historique durable.

A FIDA virtual meeting was held from 6-11 March. Among the items discussed was a strategy for fundraising which is crucial to FIDA's capacity to fund future projects. To coincide with this a donors' page has now been set up on the website to record both donations made at the time of subscription renewal and individual donations made at other times.
Une réunion virtuelle du FIDA s'est tenue du 6 au 11 mars dernier. Cruciale pour l'avenir du fonds, la question de la recherche des financements nécessaires au soutien des projets, a été discutée. Une page dédiée aux donateurs du FIDA a ainsi été créée sur le site internet de l'organisation afin de leur rendre hommage.

ICA Executive Board in Blois
La réunion du Comité exécutif de l’ICA à Blois
On 14-15 March the ICA Executive Board met in the Blois headquarters of the archives of Saint-Gobain, in order to review the organization’s progress since the successful Brisbane Congress in August 2012 and to plan the way forward up to the Annual Conference in Brussels and beyond.
Les 14 et 15 mars derniers, le Comité exécutif de l’ICA s’est réuni au siège des archives de Saint Gobain à Blois afin de passer en revue les progrès réalisés par l’organisation depuis août 2012 et le Congrès de Brisbane, et de planifier la marche à suivre jusqu’à la Conférence de Bruxelles et au-delà.

The Association of Catalan Archivists and Records Managers (AAC) are getting ready for the 14th Congress of Catalan Archivists, which will take place in Barcelona on 23, 24 and 25 May 2013, with the collaboration of Barcelona City Council, and specifically the Municipal Archive.

Rosana de Andrés Díaz, President of the Association of Spanish Archivists in Public Sector, appeared before the Constitutional Commission of the Chamber of Deputies of the Spanish Parliament in order to defend the position of archivists in public administration in relation to the draft law concerning transparency, access to public information and good governance.
Rosana de Andrés Díaz, Présidente de l’Association des Archivistes Espagnols de la Fonction Publique, a comparu devant la Commission constitutionnelle de la Chambre des députés du parlement espagnol pour défendre la position des archivistes de la fonction publique vis-à-vis du projet de loi sur la transparence, l’accès à l’information publique et la bonne gouvernance.
